1.  if you aren’t yet a fan of my facebook page you should do so HERE.  why, you ask? because i’m the mom and i said so there are going to be some really exciting cha cha cha changes and specials coming up over the next few weeks and you want to be the first to know about it.  trust me.

2.  i’m getting my roots done on thursday and i’m really looking forward to it.  it might surprise you to know i’m not actually a blonde.   haha.  i started dying my hair a few years ago after having my platinum-haired daughter, so that i wouldnt look like the nanny.  true story.

3.  speaking of nannies, i kind of wish i had one.   3 year olds + getting dressed = DRAMA.  and not the good kind of drama like gray’s anatomy or something where you laugh, you cry, and in the end you have a warm fuzzy feeling in your heart.  its more like the kind of drama where small people  scream hysterically,  throw things, kick things, scream some more, sulk… ETC.  i might hire a nanny just to come by our house from 8:00 to 8:15 every morning.

4.  srsly though, does anyone know how to handle a 3 year old who refuses to get dressed?  the normal threats and bribes and general trickery don’t even work.

5.  a bottle of sparkling water just exploded all over me.  that’s it.  i’m not going to try to be healthy anymore.  wine would NEVER do such a thing.

6.  THIS is my new favorite every day wine.  i’ve never had such a great cheap wine.  ever.  i might have mentioned this before, but it’s that good.

7.  i think THESE are just about the custest things ever.   I want to buy bags of stuff just so i can clicp them with the birdies.

8.  my favorite people.  and my favorite part of the day.

9.  my first birth session is coming up in may.  i’m excited.  a little nervous.  but mostly excited.

10.  this week is a good week.  as of thursday i will be a full time photographer.  no more day job.  it’s bittersweet.  the bitter being the way the company went about eliminating my postion.  they are  not a company with much integrity or respect for their employees.  the sweet being that i now get to spend more time snuggling my loves, and photographing YOU.

xo

so, for the record… i wasn’t quite as awesome when i took the first one (january 2009)…. and the second one was a total after thought to her maternity session…. so, i didnt have a copy of the first to look at for comparison, and it was a different time of day, and apparently, i’m taller now? ahh, well. i think i might need to reshoot this though with a copy of the first in hand (if she stays pregnant!), because i like the idea.  nevertheless….

there are some major changes taking place to the blog and website over the next couple of weeks!

followed by some reeeeeally cool things coming up including a *contest* and a really awesome mother’s day special.

you = on the edge of your seat.

i can tell.

(don’t be mad megan!)

every so often photographers are approached with the question “how come you only show a handful of the images you took?”  the answer is, no matter how pretty you are, *blink* is not a good look for anyone.

someone has to be the example.  see below, my lovely sister.

example

1.  this week i finished ordering a bunch of obnoxious pink princess party decorations for claire’s third birthday party.  A. it’s going to be SO awesome i can’t stand it. and B. the ups guy is going to be my new best friend, as I ordered everything from different sellers on etsy.  or, he might actually hate me.  either way – we’ll be seeing quite a lot of each other.

2.  enough with the rain, california!!! there is a reason we put up with the traffic, inflated prices and governator… it’s called SUNSHINE.  learn it.  usually i’m a big fan of the rain, but i’ve had to postpone one too many sessions due to rain, mud and cold weather.  so just stop it.

3.  i’m wearing this in my hair today – which is just gorgeous.  and i encourage you to go buy some flowers from her shop.  what a pleasure to work with as well.  look forward to seeing her work sprinkled in my work.

4.  this is claire’s “i’m going to fire you” pose.  you have been warned.

5.  get ready for some big big big changes.  in the next couple months you will see… a new name (gasp!), a new website (gasp!), a new blog (gasp) and a lot of new amazing sessions up and coming (gasp, gasp!).  i’m ridiculously excited.

6.  i have two spots left in my birth photography casting call.  i’m major looking forward to photographing lindsay’s home birth in may (hi lindsay!).  take advantage of this oppourtunity while you can, mama’s!  people are getting pregnant left and right around here!

7.  three years ago today i was housing this gal:

9.   time sure does fly.

10.  looking forward to a night of snuggling my almost three year old, then my almost 45 year old, sipping a delish glass of red wine, and watching lost.  what are you up to tonight?

last winter i shot an amazing engagement session in the valley’s best kept secret of a location.  i was afraid it wouldnt come back, or that people would build homes over it.  but… i drove by today and i SQUEEEELED!  it’s BACK!

book your session FAST!  it only lasts for about 4 weeks.

omg. omg. omg.

here are some of my very favorite places on the internet this week…

really REALLY beautiful children’s clothing from Beane & Company.  not just my favorite because i want to go back and time and be a kid just so i can fit into these gorgeous dresses, but also my favorite because i’m doing an exclusive clothing line shoot with her daughter this month!  i could not be more excited.  so be sure to visit HERE and buy a bunch of stuff.

if you’re a mama you must read this blog entry.  trust me.

if you live in the OC you should hire Christie Hobson to photograph your life.  she blows my mind.  of course if you live in LA or Ventura County you should hire me to photograph your life.  but you already know that.

this is an awesome blog if you’re looking to be inspired.

in case you are living under a rock and weren’t aware that you can text money to haiti – you can.  here’s how.  if you didn’t know, now you have no excuse.  if you did know – do it.  now.  everybody who owns a cell phone has ten dollars.  don’t be crappy.

i’m not ashamed to admit i love me some kittehs.

this blog is pretty

thats all for today.  thank you, internet.
